MOA Rally in Tennessee

Interesting ride

Here's a suggested route for y'all that takes in some countryside in WV, KY and TN that you may not have ridden... to view a traditional Google Map, use the pull-down menu on the top right to select it.

Ragman2, Looks like I will miss you by a few days, have a good trip.

Ian, thanks for that route, may take that home.

Most welcome, I did that quickly with the "avoid highways" option on.... so the possibility of a dirt road exists. At a minimum, it's a good starting point...

There is also a really sweet road that parallels I-81 to the north... VA 42. Also, the 600 numbered roads are a great option through the mountains just north of I-81

H still talks about your Super Twisties route we used during the Johnson City rally.

We stopped to let the lane blocking " gentlemenly lane monitors" get ahead of us so we could at least maintain pace in the curves. She was shaking her head when I mentioned we were just entering the fun part:dance

Always some good routes:thumb

New Plan

i am now thinking that I will leave the Philadelphia area on 11-June and taking the super slab down (81). Staying over in Salem VA on Tuesday night and then staying in Harriman tn on Wednesday night. Then there is a short ride to the rally. Plan is to take the blue ridge parkway back. I am approaching 70 and have not taken a long trip in years. I know the super slab is not fun but I'm thinking it will give me a good idea of my endurance while not taking so long to get there. The ride back will be with all the knowledge I gained from the trip down.
