My Husband Charlie and I are currently in New York, Moving to Tulsa OK in the Spring.
We are restoring a great “ Barn find” and eager to get on the road with her. ( once the snow is gone lol )

Currently I am looking for an owners manuel and repair/ maintence books, hard copy or online.
I appreciate any links and or web sites Thanks very much LESLI.

Welcome to the forum, Lesli.

If you mean that you are from New York CITY, then you are definitely moving to a more motorcycle-friendly part of the country. Good luck.

Welcome, Lesli!

For the owner’s manual info it may help to call out the exact year and model. For general Airhead maintenance the Clymer manual is useful: https://www.amazon.com/through-R100...&sr=8-5&keywords=Clymer+bmw+motorcycle+manual

But do use caution with the Clymer as there are some errors—always double-check torque values with at least one other source. One great source of information for owners on 1970-1995 Airhead BMW is the website at http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/technical-articles-list.htm run by Bob Fleischer (aka “Snowbum”).

Lastly, there is another organization you should consider joining in addition to BMWMOA, and that is the Airheads Beemer Club at http://www.airheads.org. ABC has a lot of tech info on their site, plus you’ll find that most states hold at least one “Tech Day” per year, where members gather to help each other work on maintenance and repairs and to enjoy each other’s company. It’s a great resource for anyone enjoying and maintaining an Airhead BMW.

HTH, and good luck on your bike projects!

Welcome Lesli and Charlie to the forum. What kind of outfit did you find in the barn attached to your R80? Please share a photo or two in the sidecar section. Hope your move to OK goes well in the spring and the rival of your hack goes well. gp
