    2007 F800S oil leak

So a couple of months ago I bought a 800S for the girlfriend to ride.
Sweet bike but has a little leak up top.
Im guessing the motor has to be pulled to pull and replace valve cover.
    Looking for insite or tips
    Thanks

You do not need to pull the engine to get the valve cover off. Leaking valve cover gaskets were not uncommon; they are easy to install incorrectly.

I recommend you get a maintenance DVD from a dealer or at very least a Haynes manual for the bike. Three or four years ago there was an article in the Owner's News about checking the valves on an F800S by the then technical writer Paul Glaves. If you can get that article it will be helpful. It is a chore getting thru the wiring to remove the valve cover.

Sorry to hear , but not a hard repair. No, motor does not need removal...but a lot of stuff above it. There are two places you need to use a bead of RTV on where semi circle castings meet head.

The BMW serrvice CD-ROM is a worthwhile purchase, be wary of really cheap copies as they sometimes have missing chapters.

here is a thread from ADVriders on the similar F650 twin, pics are kinda small

    Kevin beat me to it

In that linked thread is another talking about new style cover bolts upgraded by BMW...a good thing to replace on early models
