Oz,
... I'll add only that some of the small backroads (I'm looking at you, Santa Rosa Creek Road) have really varied paving: some is OK, and some is...um...less than OK. Pay attention out there. The visitor center at Hearst Castle was new a few years ago, and has exhibits of photographs and objects from the Castle. It's free; even if you don't take a tour, a half-hour in the Visitor Center will give you a good sense of how it is up there. The wooden boardwalk along the cliff above Moonstone Beach at Cambria is a lovely amble.
Jenny Smith of Rider magazine will be our discussion guest on Friday night - join us!
Has there been any communication about the getaway? I registered and got a confirmation, but I haven’t seen any communication about event times as yet?
Thanks
Oz
Not sure about the Cambria Getaway, but if it's like others it will be very much a self-guided experience aside from dinners. I found that I get more out of the getaways if I check my normal introverted self at the door and reach out to others. You'll likely have some from the local area who could give advice on great rides or places to visit. New friends make the experience!
The weather is not looking good! My wife and I planned to ride over from Central CA, about a 3 hour ride, and she is not wanting to ride in the rain. I sure hope the forecast changes...
Hi, and thanks!
I know the area pretty well. I live just over a mile from the Lodge. ;-). I just haven’t had any communication about times. Like, when is dinner! Lol
That's easy! Dinner is at dinner time!
At the two getaways I attended we started milling around the bar at 5:30pm and dinner was served around 6:00ish.
You live in a lovely part of the state!

Bring rain gear, apparently.
I'm bummed! Bringing the car. This was to be a 2 up trip with my wife, and I don't want to subject her to the wet. We were planning to head home Via Hwy 1 and still may.
Will still be a grand time.
