LED Tail/Brake Light Bulb

Some have installed the K1300S LED taillight on the K1200S.

'08K12GT LEDs
I just ordered these for my '08. I'll let you know about the dash lights.Should be here in the next few days.

Also if you need a 1157, here's one that I have in some other bikes. It also is a stop strobe. Hey they're cheep enough to experiment with.

I just installed amber 1156s LEDs in the rear turn signals and have no warning lights or hyperflash. And they are BRIGHT! I'm going to leave the front turns stock for now.

Even with the HyperLites and the LEDs, someone will say they didn't see me!

There are two tail light bulbs on my '08 and they are 1156s. Single filament. As are the rear turn bulbs.

The number one reason cited by drivers who run into fire trucks running lights and siren is "I didn't see it."
That happened in the city I lived in, only better yet.....
At an intersection a firetruck plowed into an ambulance, both headed to the same call, both had lights on and sirens blaring. Apparently there was some confusion about who had the right of way. Neither made the call. The ambulance rolled over and the firetruck had relatively minor damage. Pretty sure there were a couple meetings held after that!
And you guys think brighter tail lights will save your butt!

Well, they arrived and when I did the install, the bike did not like them. Would not even light them up. Bench tested and found good. Reinstalled stock light, all good. Put LEDs back in and nothing. So back to stock filament types. And with too many things to work on, this will just have to be.

Update: 8/03/19
I received the LED front bulbs, installed and Shezzzzam! No problems. And no hyperflash or dash warning.
Also in chatting with those much smarter than me, talk was of a switch in the onboard computer that will let you toggle between LED or filament bulbs. My problem with the tail/brake light seems to be that the canbus noticed a bulb out with the LEDs and shut down the power to the tail bulb circuit.
Going to get this figured out yet. Just got a GS911. Now all I have to do is figure it out.
