R1100R reluctant neutral indicator light & no start with clutch disengaged

So, getting the neutral indicator light to come on is a challenge. Put transmission in neutral and nudge the gear shifter up and down until the light comes on. A real problem when engine is cold. After you've been riding a while it becomes easier to get the neutral indicator light to illuminate but still not a sure thing.

The problem is compounded as it will not start in gear with clutch lever pulled in.

Is this the switch that will allow me to crank in gear with clutch disengaged?

Yes that is the correct clutch switch.
