1996 R1100RT Engine Exhaust Muffler Rear Mounting isolator

I'm working on my 96 R1100RT. I need to replace one of my muffler rubber isolators. See pics. I have looked at the parts fiche and worked with MAX BMW parts guy and we have not been able to find this part on the BMW fiche. Just by chance has anyone else had to replace this part and would know the part number? Max is looking into this and will probably call BMW. 20181103_104020_resized B.jpg20181103_093204_resized B.jpg

I also have a 96 R1100RT and went through the same search a few months back. I had to take the muffler off for a reason I forget and one of the rubber mounts was shot. I called several dealers. They all told me that that rubber part was no longer made/sold. For that reason there is no fiche number for it. They said the later 1150s, etc stopped using that rubber mount system. I was told to just get rid of the ones I had and hang the muffler with the front and back mount and it would be fine. I did that, and indeed, there doesn't seem to be any problem. I try to keep the bike as it was built, but sometimes it's impossible. I've stopped worrying about it at this point. Hope that saves you some time and effort.

    Exhaust Muffler mounting isolator

Yes, as you said this rubber isolator part is obsolete and no longer available per dealers and one of the dealers I spoke with also said when they find bad ones they just remove them as you said.. The isolator on the right side of mine is good so I decided I would drill out the threads in the bad isolator and just use a through bolt, fiber washer, lock nut and reinstall.20181106_114946_resized.jpg
