Not a surprise. I am sure there is always some pressure from the Mother Ship to toe the party line on such matters. Lawyers must make their boat payments, you know.

Gasoline adulterated with ethanol is primarily an Americal joke, foisted on us for non-technical reasons that have nothing to do with how engines run and perform. It is a net energy loss in use and a purely stupid policy.

Any time you can run/obtain non-ethanol gas, an engine will be happier (IMO). The exhaust fumes are like a sensory trip back in time. Pouring non-ethanol gas is like pouring the lightest of oils while pouring today’s gas is like pouring water

I am fortunate to have available E-0 gas in my area in 87, 89 and 93 - each at a different station. My R60/6 is given only the 93. My R1100RT is given either 93 or 89, mostly the 89. Usually 2 or 3 partial fills with 89, then a fill with 93. Never any problem with pinging. Several years ago I was having bad problems on my Airheads with fuel line deterioration, floats failing. Since the switch to E-0 the Airheads run great. My RT also runs fabulously.
