Looking at a 2001 R1150 GS

I'm currently between Beemers, last one was a K1100RS that I traded for a car for my wife to drive. Way too long to be without so I've been looking pretty seriously recently. My first choice is usually an RS but many Beemer buddies are encouraging me to look at the GS models. A friend of mine has a 2001 R1150GS with 40K, lots of extras and well maintained. What should I look at if I test this bike out? Price is pretty cheap, 3K.

this is a late response but i just joined this group and recently traded for an 01 R1150GS myself. Have had it since September. i also have a 2016 K1600GT. when i am asked to ride i almost always go for the GS. i have had many bikes and many styles of riding positions but i just love this older GS. Did you make the deal? 40k is pretty low for this bike in my opinion. let me know if you have or are still tinking about it and i will share more thoughts. thanks, Rick
