Gives us something to talk about when we cannot be riding??? (Seriously, I have no idea what it is for, and do not know if I have one under my seat.)

Total shot in the dark here, but I'm thinking it's the plug in for the ADD.WIRING HARNESS SPECIAL VEHICLE (61 12 8 530 338) or CONNECTING CABLE LED REAR FOG LIGHT (61 12 8 568 609) - they both appear to have a plug similar to the one you're showing in the picture.
