Windscreen adjustment mechanism lubrication and switch cleaning

On my 96 R1100RT, my windscreen occasionally goes up or down slower than normal or stutters. Is there something in the lift mechanism that needs lubrication? How do I get to it? Also, is it possible to take the switch apart to clean the contacts? oldcarman jim

A common issue on older RT's. Your model is considered an Oilhead here and I will move over there shortly.

There is a similar thread at bottom of page that often leads you to the answer as well.

I'll see if someone answers before I move and you return as well

Found a few, may be 1150 though
