K1200S. The secret to removing....

BC1100S

Left Coast Rider
... the cover for the licence plate lamp is....?

My plate light is burned out, I don't see any screws to remove and I'm afraid of breaking off a plastic tab (or two) if I start poking and prodding. So please, 'o gurus of all things wedge-like, enlighten me as to how to get at the bulb. The owner's manual makes no mention of this lamp.

Thanks in advance!

PS Here's a slightly out of focus picture of the culprit.

Darn, someone beat me to it! I was going to have some fun by suggesting it was accessed through the exhaust header...

There's a rumor that a Harley may be entirely rebuilt that way... just a rumor...

The Secret Solved

1. Remove licence plate
2. Remove 3 screws and remove licence plate and lamp mount
3. Unplug/remove lamp assembly from back of lamp housing
4. Remove bulb and replace with new, over-priced one
5. Assemble in reverse order

Here's a picture just after I've drawn it through the exhaust pipe and removed the bulb from its holder. :D

Thanks for the assist, guys!
