Hello All,

I've rejoined MOA after a long hiatus from riding. I previously rode an oilhead R1200GS and loved it. I recently bought a 2017 F800GS, because as a retiree at 67 years old, I wanted a slightly smaller/lighter/less expensive bike.

I took the new bike on a 2k+ mile round trip to Oshkosh, Wi for the AirVenture event and quickly came to hate the small fuel tank. I've ordered a Camel Tank. I'm also getting used to that funny thing that goes around and around where the drive shaft used to be on my other bike. Clean and lube every 600 miles? :)

Once the auxiliary tank is in, I'm planning on doing the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route (MABDR). Any tips for that ride are welcome.

It's good to be back in the saddle and back with MOA.

Welcome back! As a rider of the predecessor to your new bike, I predict you will come to love the "funny thing"--called a belt drive. And if your older bladder is anything like my older bladder, that "small tank" will be just about right for you.

Good luck.
