    Battery Recommendation for a 1987 K75s

Yesterdays ride ended with the bike just dying. Stopped for gas. Bike started right up and rode for half a mile when the charging light came on very dimly. Then she just died. The battery was in the bike when I bought it about four years ago. I'm hoping that it's just the battery. I would like to know what brands people seem to favor.

    Thanks,
    Jim

But, before you buy a new battery, you need to remove your old battery and FULLY charge it and then have it load tested. Then you need to pull the alternator brushes and check their length. I believe minimum length is .190".

    Thanks Lee,

Had the battery checked. It's good. Checked the brushes and plenty of life left in them. After putting a full charge on the battery I could start it 4 or 5 times in a row. Every time I turned on the switch the light's would light up and the bike would start. Today with a full charge, when I turned on the ignition no lights, no start. Ignition switch? But then why would the bike just die when riding it?

My K75 died and it turned out to be the voltage regulator not properly charging the battery.
