    Aftermarket Shocks?

What are your opinions on aftermarket shocks for an 1200RT? Wilber's or Yacugar's? How often do these need to be rebuilt? (I heard every 2 years or 25000 miles?) Is this true? Seems very costly. Are they worth to money for the ride and the time it takes to maintain them?

    Thanks

At least one of the threads in the Similar Threads pane below discusses this for the R1200RT.

If after some time, this thread doesn't get much input, one of the moderators will move it to the Wetheads forum...while this is a "gear" question, it's specific to the R1200RT and might do better there. But I wouldn't post another question there...this thread will be moved when the time comes.

From personal experience the Wilber's are great shocks and fully rebuildable. I had them on my GSA and riding a lot of off-road, they lasted 35K before a rebuild was in order. Having aftermarket rebuildable suspension is one of the best investment you can make for your bike in the long run IMHO.
I usually did that before going on a long trip. Talk to Ted Porter at http://www.beemershop.com
