2005 R1200GS power outlet for GPS and such

I just bought a mint 2005 R1200 GS and it has on power port on the left side and I want to add a port up front that is powered when the key is on like my 2007 RT. I have the factory mounted GPS that was part of the deal when I bought the 2007 so it powers up when I start and shuts off when the key is off. Anyone have any ideas how find the connection where I can add a port that is keyed? I just don't want to have it fused direct to the battery because it's a long walk in the desert when I let something turned on to kill be battery. I only have this machine a few days and I'm getting familier with it.

Thanks, Tom

I installed a Powerlet outlet on my 2003 1150RT, but it appears they are out of business and Revzilla has run out of their products.

The internet is a powerful tool, but finding BMW (European) cig lighter male plugs that power Micro USB, Mini USB or even a CAN-BUS compatible outlet is hard to find.
