I'm helping a local K1200LT owner with his recently purchased bike. One of his complaints is the "normal" buzz that occurs around 4500 RPM. I've read as much as I could find on the subject and it looks like tune up items such as valve lash settings may have an impact, but there are also multiple comments regarding the exhaust system playing a roll and the Remus system solving the issue. As I crawled underneath it, I noticed that the mounting tabs near the collector don't have the wire form exhaust mount attached. If I followed a couple of the threads correctly, I think this mount was added to prevent the exhaust assembly from cracking. I'm unsure whether it impacts vibration one way or the other. If any of you have any insight, I'd like to know whether I should buy the mount and add it back in or if it was likely removed to combat vibration and that installing it will just push things in the wrong direction. Thanks for the help.
