    I don't use oil on my switchplate and outlet screws.

    I don't know who told me to do this years ago,( probably my local parts guy ) but I pre fill all my filters. Even the ones on my Mazda MX-6 GT, but only enough to soak the media because it sits at a 45 degree on the engine. The only one I never did was my RX-7s' as they sit upside down! LOL I've torn down many a motor in my time and have seen all manner of crap in them. Unless they get no oil or tons of grit, they will last a long time. Might not make a big difference, but it gets oil to the bottom end a little quicker...in my humble opinion. YMMV

    Since the OE filter does not have a drain back valve using a funnel you can fill from one of the outer holes. No unfiltered oil in the center of the filter. You ARE using only the OE filter, right?
