Oktoberfest in the German Alps part of the Catskill Mountains of NY Sept 14th-16th

A bozo on the bus
The New Jersey Shore BMW Riders would like to welcome ALL BMW riders to our annual Oktoberfest celebration. It is held at a German resort in the Round Top area of the Catskill Mountains. It is less than 2 hours from NYC, 3.5 hours from Central NJ - but if you get there the right way - you can take an entire day doing it (I do..)

The resort - Crystal Brook Resort - provides ALL meals and lodging. Cost is about $200 for the weekend - that includes lodging and SIX all you can eat meals. You can sleep indoors - no need to tent - and have waiters bring you food. Evenings are spent at the Mountain Brauhaus - a German beer hall on the grounds of the resort (walking distance to your bed.. no need to ride..) There are German or Austrian bands on Friday and Saturday night. Food starts with Friday dinner - and ends with lunch on Sunday (well worth staying for..) TWO full breakfasts, TWO full lunches and TWO full dinners. Desert is served at lunch and dinner. You will not loose any weight at this rally.

Our club just makes the arrangements with the resort. We collect NO money from you - and are not making a cent from the event. We hold it so we can meet more riders from the NorthEast area of the US. The resort takes the money, reserves your room and provides us with everything we need to have a great time. We are hoping for some door-prizes this year.

This IS a great couples event - the rooms are a bit 1960ish - but the beds are comfortable, there is AC and heat, and private baths with showers. In the area, there is great riding - and historic sites. It's just minutes to Olana - Frederick Law Church's Moorish mansion on top of a mountain - well worth a visit if you have any interest in the Hudson Valley school of painting. Vanderbilts had a mansion not far away - and FDR had his home, and his mother's home (and his girlfriend's home) nearby. All are open for tours. Lots to do - lots of great riding.

If you're planning on coming - and want an interesting route to get there - give me a yell via PM here. I can probably work something up for you.
