Question Remove the Cradle for a Navigator unit on a R1200GSA

Has anyone tried to remove a pre-installed cradle for a Navigator unit on a 201X R1200GS Adventure? My new GS came with it already installed and I am not going to keep the GPS unit. Asking specifically about the electrical connections. Do you know if it is a plug or is it direct wired? Trying to decide whether to just cut the wire or go through the trouble to take everything apart to disconnect it.

Plug. Worth taking care when removing. You can use the circuit to run a different GPS or other low amperage device.
