09RT still a sporadic starter

The too tight zipties is a common R1200xx problem. Whover setup the auto-ziptie machine at the factory has way too much force dialed into it. The 8" down from the starter button is a new one for me - but any of the factory ties should be looked at, and replaced if they are too tight - before they damage the wire they're crushing. On my own bikes - whenever I get to a spot where the factory zipties are still in place, I check to see if they're too tight - and if they are I replace them with correctly tightened ones. Correctly tightened means they keep the wiring in place, but aren't crushing it. It's a case of more-tighter isn't better-tighter. Generally mine I can slide sideways a bit after I tighten them..
