Hi Guys

Any advise in taking apart a slash 2 speedo ? I am taking it apart so I can get a different colour dial put on instead of the normal yellowish one

Thank you

Be very careful not to screw up. If you can find a new speedo it will be stupid expensive. Perhaps it might be best left to somebody who doesn't have to ask on line how to do the job. Lots of skilled speedo people listed in the Airmail. You are a member of the Airheads (www.airheads.org) aren't you?

Not sure yellow was "normal"! ;) I believe the bezel is crimped on...likely it will be destroyed when removing it. Check my signature line for info on speedometer repair places. Not sure that the typical US places Palo Alto and North Hollywood will take /2 speedometers. Other routine places that come to mind are Overseas Speedometer and an independent guy Terry Vrla.

Speedo Redone

Been at it researching and taken apart the speedometer apart, working with designer we came up with a cleaner look for the dial, now to put in all back together. Should look a lot smarter used the Porsche 911 Chrono look

Speedo Re Done

LOL - its a lot of work, I was surprised, I have many hours to still put it back altogether, very slow process

Speedo face

Red fades fast just a thought
Original face had single blue line at 31 two blue lines at 48 three at 76 I assume that if bike does not have a tachometer blue lines are marking the redline equivalent when in that gear, or recommended shift point either way I would have marks at same speeds on new face
Wife said red face looks like dials on our wolf stove, reminds me of one of those red ass monkeys:) but red is not my favorite color

Hi WOW I missed the markings, so basically I am at 1000 rpm at 31, 2000 rpm at 48 and 3000 rpm at 76 rpm ?

I was thinking about going back and adding them but really not too bothered let me have a thought, thanks for the information.

No, those marks are essentially redline in each gear. Reline would have been around 7000 RPM based upon some tire calculations that I've done.
