Feeler Gauge for /6 Master Cylinder

I have most of the original tool kit for my '75 R90S with the exception of that forked feeler gauge for setting clearance of the piston rod at the back of the master cylinder. What is the thickness of that feeler gauge?

Hard to see doing business with that vendor - NewParts. Yes, you can add that gauge to your cart and pay and check out, which I did having lost my original, only to be told the part is not available.

I asked why they are listing parts they do not have in stock? Unsurprisingly my question was not answered.

Avoid.

You really don't need the "tool". Just stack up some flat feeler gauges to equal the thickness and slip that on either side of the piston extension. :thumb

I have heard unofficially that a well known source of Airhead parts is working on reproducing this item. Stand by for official announcement.

I've run into that more than once. If MAX or my dealer both show the part NA and Hucky's BMW doesn't have an after market version, likely its now unobtanium.

BTW, if you go to Hobby Lobby, or ACE, you could get some brass sheet and make you own using Bob Fleischer's published thickness measurements.

Cut a longer strip and a shorter one. Fold the longer one over once with the shorter inside it. Crimp the edge and cut a slot with tin snips.

Or, as suggested, try combining some feeler gauges.

But, think about the fun of having a custom made brass feeler gauge with "HM" engraved in it when you whip it out at the next airhead Tech Day. You can spin a tail about how Hans Muth sent it you out of his private stock :)
