Remote Key Fob Programing for 2016 R1200RT

New member
Changed the dead battery on on my key fob, but still can't set the alarm or lock the luggage bags with the remote. The bike will start with the keyless
fob. The manual is very confusing, looked on youtube and one video shows taking off the wind screen and programing it that way. This seems odd.
The dealer is 125 miles away in Las Vegas, don't really want to make that trip.
Any suggestions

Are you sure the battery is the issue, and not the fob. Have you tried calling the dealer and talking to the service advisor?
