    Frank Lloyd Wright house

About 25 miles east of Waterloo, just south of 20 near Quasqueton is cedar rock park. The Walter house, built by Frank Lloyd Wright is open for tours. This house is just as Wright designed it. Few Wright homes are open for tours and fewer yet have all their original furnishing. The tour is free, but donations are accepted.

Have you tried Smitty's on Army Post Road? It is my understanding that they have been there since 1964.

I have not been there but I hear it's good. Only a couple blocks from Nick's, so a person can try both and compare

You can also order the Iowa Bicycle Map. This shows the bike trails on the Transportation Map and it uses a water resistant paper.

A couple of thoughts after living in Iowa City for a couple years.

    1. If you've never been to Amish country, I'd make some stops around Kalona, IA which is just south of Iowa City. Any local gas station will have a map of local farms/stores selling goods.

    2. John's Grocery in Iowa City has a beer selection that will rival almost anywhere.

    3. If you're making your way over from Burlington on US34, cruise around Fairfield, IA - home to the Maharishi School of Management and the golden domes. An interesting place in the middle of the corn fields of Iowa. Also, one of the few places outside of the college towns where you can get a decent vegetarian or vegan meal.

3A. The American Gothic House (from the famous painting) is close too

    4. If you're coming from the northwest, stop in the Ice Cream capital of the world - Le Mars

    5. The Amana colonies are also a neat place to spend an afternoon - big family-style meals will help you prep for all the walking at the rally!
    1995 BMW K75s - 100k and climbing!
    2007 BMW R1200RT - 62k
    2009 BMW G650GS - 22k and ready for Alaska!
