Planning trip to Virgina and WV area

I usually fly and rent a bike but was wandering about shipping my own bike. Is this a more costly choice and where to ship it to? Anybody recommend shipping a bike?

I know EagleRider has several locations in the DC area, but I don't know about the rest of VA or WV at all (sorry). Great area for riding though!

Shipping is always an option, there's several Virginia dealers that could probably receive the bike for you. There are dealers in Fredericksburg (Morton's), Loudon County (Dulles), Chesapeake (Adventure) and Frontline Eurosports (Salem/Roanoke), plus a couple in Maryland and more in North Carolina if you decide to expand your journey.

Thanks for the info. I have gotten quote to rent from Eagle Rider in Pittsburgh PA. I will try getting a quote from haulbikes.com to a dealer listed.
