Help with wax!!

Hi Everyone,
I am picking up my new RS Saturday, the paint is flat or matt. What kind of wax should I use I read online and it said don't use regular wax or it will fill the pours of the paint and it will be shiny within time. Any experience or input would be great, thanks

I have the matte finish on my bike and just use "Original Bike Spirits Spray Cleaner and Polish". Spray it on, wipe it off, and it cleans, polishes, and protects the finish. I use it just about every time I get back from a ride and can clean the bugs off the bike in about 5 minutes. I bought it at the local BMW dealer but there are a couple of different brands of spray cleaner and polish that work just as well. The dealer might have some suggestions as well. Good luck with the new bike!

I have the blue RS which is gloss paint but the pannier lids are matte paint.
Most of the time on the pannier lids I use Original Bike Spirits mentioned above.
Quick Detailer sprays like Meguiar's and Eagle One seem to work also.

Here's a Amazon link for Original Bike Spirits

Did you buy a Grey 2017?

Congrats on the new RS

You definitely do not want to put any kind of wax on your matte paint. I have a Calisto grey matalic matte finish in my 2015 R1200RT and used Chemical guys products for protection intil I found this. It works on any surface and is very cool how I can ride right thru the rain for entire day and the bike still looks clean except for the chrome exhaust

It's expensive but I bought a small bottle about 8 months ago and still have some left. Real easy on and buff off

Thank you everyone I thought I would ask so I know what not to do. I pick it up tomorrow it is a new 2016 left over in silver/gray / black in color.

+1 on Topcoat. It is an excellent product, I use it on matte finishes all the time.

+1 for Original Bike Spirits !!

I am as anal and OCD as they come and Original Bike Spirits is all I use! Owned a 2002 GS in Graphitan Metallic which was a matte finish and used OBS on it and it looked new when it was sold in 2016.
