Removing heated grips 2008 RT

Have completed this mod, and am happy with the result. Now I can change the grips as I wish, when I see one I like better, or when the old one is worn out.
Maybe is just me, but when have a new set of grips, it kind of reminds me when the bike was new! And BTW, Omega Man, using compressed air is great to install or remove grips! Thanks! The grips on the 2005-9 are molded directly into the thin vinyl throttle. Only thing I managed (had to!) to separate and save was the wheel that rolls the throttle cables. No after market makes that particular diameter, or not that I know. Made a aluminum sleeve 7/8 ID and 1" OD attached the wheel to it and now any after market grip will fit. Here is a pic. When I cut open the heated grip (yes, I ruined it, a perfectly good working unit!)almost cried! Thought I should be able to save the inner sleeve with the wheel that rolls the throttle cables. Was wrong, and it took me some time to figure out what to do next. All is good now and couldn't be happier. Also lowered the handlebars an inch, so am anxious to take her for a spin, but is full blown winter here these days.
