Anti lock Brakes

Just to reinforce Kevin's post #59 - These exceptional test riders also knew in advance that they would have to make a simulated emergency stop at a specified point. The real benefit of ABS is when there is a sudden "moment" that you realize that you've gotta stop NOW and just grab all the brakes you can.
It's saved my butt several times on several different bikes under various road and weather conditions. Thanks, BMW.

ABS brakes is the main reason I decided to ride again after a 35 year absence. In the four years since they have saved my bacon 4 times. Without them I doubt I would be here to tell about it. Wouldn’t consider riding without them.
 
I am certain Kevin loves these threads. I do. More discussion the better. I have learnt a bunch from so many sources....formal classes, books, and these discussions.
I want to be open to new learning opportunities in all aspects of my life. I am a professional pilot of 20 + years but I still learn from my students! I love it.
