I've finally done it!! Most have called it a midlife crisis, but I've wanted a BMW motorcycle for way too many years and haven't been able to pull the trigger. I rode Enduros when I was younger, but haven't really done much riding in a long time, so, as a starter bike, I found this lovely 2009 R1200GSA with a tad over 13K on the odometer about a month ago. I've put over 1000 miles on it, so far, riding with a fellow BMW owner and having the time of my life!! Eventually, I'll be wandering off into New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado with a different set of tires for the adventures that lie ahead and off the beaten path!!

Welcome to the forum! Nice bike! I didn't realize Lubbock looked like that!! :wave

That picture is at the edge of the Palo Duro canyon about 120 miles north of Lubbock. Have to travel a little to get anything other than flat around here...

Next time you are out and about run on down here to the Big Bend. We are south of Alpine, north of the National Park. Drop ins welcome.

It gets mighty brisk up here in the winter. Heading south sounds like a pretty good idea. If the Wifi is good, I might have to find a place to stay since most of my work can be done remotely. Work a couple hours a day, explore the rest of the time. I'm in!!
