Battery tender connection

Hi,
Not sure I did it right!!

I connected an SAE cable to be able to use my ‘batterey tender junior’ to the following ground- and positive+ terminals.

I am just not sure that I can use the red positive terminal, instead of the battery + terminal. It does work, but with all the electronics I do not want to damage anything.

Also, I cannot figure what is the black ‘thing’ under the red cover on the right.

Thanks for any information.

This is on a GSA1200 2016

You have the pigtail correct.
The black thing is where you plug in a diagnostic tool like a GS911 and shop computer. It's a cover.
