Vermont Great Roads On Line Maps

Folks..wanted to alert you that the great riding roads list at www.mileageslaves.com has added states in New England. So, the Smokies are there and the Texas Hill Country and the Ozarks, BUT, now with the assistance of key clubs we've got VERMONT and MASS. The site provides you with maps you can print out and in the case of Vermont also lists "danger zones" where riders tend to get tangled up in accidents. Will be expanding over time. Also will be improving the maps. If you wish to track miles and motivate yourself with a fun contest you create, you can do that at the site. In the Spring we will be awarding fun certificates at the IBMWR gathering in Branson to folks from that group. No cost of course. And thanks to the great volunteers who worked so hard to put this together for your use. The Road Kings in question at noted at the web site. Feel free to thank them. And pass this along if you would. It is a work in progress and your suggestions for additions should go to the relevant Road King as listed on the site, in all cases they are folks who live in the area, ride it all the time, and know the roads like the back of their hand including the unmarked two lanes that are noted. The best way to make a riding map of Vermont is just to list places of interest. Any road you take to get there will be a good road.

The only roads to avoid are the congested ones, RT 7, RT 4...that's about it.

Get to know Spear Street, Route 22a, and Route 116.

VtPaul is right about 7 congestion most especially as you get up toward Shelburne. South of there, it is a dangerous 2-laner with a bad rep for fatal head-ons, and has been since at least the 1970's.
