service shops in NW Michigan

Hi all. Do you know of any good mechanics for '60's /2's in northwest lower Michigan? Need some engine work done on my R50 and R60. I live in the Traverse City area.

I'm not aware of any shops up that direction. This page:

http://micapeak.com/bmw/Airhead-Shops.html

shows the closest for Airheads is Grand Rapids. I checked this list:

http://www.ibmwr.org/dealers-independent.shtml

and see there's a shop in Interlochen. Ooops! I see you're from there! It says 1970-on but you might call and see if they have any suggestions.

You could also look at your Anonymous book and check nearby cities for members with codes that suggest they have an interest in vintage BMWs.

What's the "engine work" that you need done?

Good luck!

thanks for suggestions Kurt

My main seals are leaking, and don't know history of bikes I have owned 2 years. So not sure of all needs. I'l check anonymous book. Good idea. BMW MC Grand Rapids won't work on old bikes anymore.
