Diy brake pad change r1200gs 2013

Looking to get more hands on with some maintenance items. I'm a rookie at it. Would you recommend I change my own brake pads. Looked at a couple of videos and does not seem too complicated. Is that correct?

Searched for threads explaining it but did not find. Should I tackle and if so, which replacement pads are recommended (all street and highway riding, no off road).

Thanks

Here's a bad bearing from a final drive I had to rebuild myself...so brakes are something you should feel comfortable doing and will make you feel good learning about your bike.
