The wife has given the go-ahead to purchase a new RT. She gets to pick the color and she wants Mars Red Metallic, which is a new color for the 2018 RT.
Although the 2018 RTs aren't available yet (but they're on BMW's website now), the Mars Red Metallic color is available on the K1600GT, both for 2017 and 2018.
In researching Top Case options, BMW offers the deluxe electrified Top Case for the RT in the light aluminium finish. However, BMW offers what appears to be the same Top Case, but painted to match the Mars Red Metallic K1600GT.
Both the RT and K1600GT Top Cases are priced at $1680 (yikes, they're expensive).
So, here's my question:
Will the K1600GT Top Case fit the RT? My thought is to order the K1600GT Top Case in the matching Mars Red Metallic, so I don't have to purchase the RT Top Case and have it painted to match.
