    Vario Bags Cleaning

The mat finish on the Vario bags for my R1200GS look very nice but it is difficult to remove boot marks from them when I happen to drag my boot across them getting on or off the bike. Some will tell me to just lift my leg higher, but with both hips replaced and with my 71st birthday next week, I am not quite as limber as I once was.

I used water and a rag but that doesn't seem to do it. Is there a product to use or ------ ????

I like Lucas Slick Mist. Works great on painted and matte black finishes. Use the Slick Mist with a microfiber cloth and some elbow grease to get the boot marks off. (I leave them too!)

Just consider it to be patina. Will save useless work.

I could do that with the entire bike. Just never clean it--but I like to take care of the things I own. I think that waxing them might be the route to go. Preventative maintenance. I am going to try using ice wax and see how that works.

It is a "dirt bike" isn't it? In any case, I think you are confusing dirt with fair wear and tear but it is your bike -- polish away.
