Hello everyone,
I joined the MOA so I could meet some more riders with similar interests. I lot of my friends with bikes are more of the "around town" variety riders... which is still fun for me, but I like going on long trips, and camping on my GS. I consider my bike to be my main vehicle. I only drive my 4runner when there is snow, and ice on the ground, or in really bad storms. I try to commute on my bike rain or shine as many days out of the year as my area's weather will allow. I have other bikes too, but BMW has, and always will have my heart. Along side of camping, and touring, I like to fix/restore vintage bikes. I'm building a custom cafe racer at the moment, and in a couple weeks I will take ownership, and start restoring an R75/5. I work as an auto mechanic currently for Volkswagen, but I was also a BMW, and Audi tech... ( can't stay away from the german stuff). LOL. So that's me, I look forward to meeting some great people, and hopefully find some people around my area to connect with for some rides in the future.

Ride safe all,
~Kyle

Welcome to the forums and the club Kyle. Based on your interests, you are definitely in the right place. We have a lot of strong members from Illinois, just a little south of ya there, around Champaign Urbana. The first meeting of the original 5 members of the MOA took place in Chicago back in '72... so there's that.

Best advice, open up your Anonymous book and make a few calls in your local area and get connected, engaged, and plugged in to your local charter club. The website is also a very effective tool for finding out what we are all about.

Thanks for being a member, hope to see you soon at one of our events or at our international rally in Des Moines next year.

Thank you for the welcome, and the advice. I can't wait for the rally next year, and I lucked out that it's close to Illinois. I'll definitely reach out to the chicago club!

Cheers
