Question Side cases , central locking system 2017 1200rt

I have exhausted the method in the owners booklet on how to detach the side cases . Seems like it should be easy enough .
    1. Key in lock . Turn to release . Push down keyed button . Flap to open case flips up . Left carry handle and remove .
I am stuck on lifting handle . It will not budge . Either side.

I could use some input .
    Thanks

Turn the key in the opposite direction, the carry handle pops up, lift and remove the case.
No button pushing, no flap lifting.
