ABS question on 2014 f800 gsa

When riding off road my ABS kicks in for no apparent reason without touching the brakes. Has anybody had this happen?

How do you know your ABS is kicking in if you're not using your brakes?

If you are going to ride offload you should turn your ABS off.

    Welcome to the forum!
Do you feel the ABS in use or just see the light flash on from time to time?

    Thank you for response

I was told by someone to keep the ABS on while off road. I will try with it off. The light will kick on at the same time the back tire appears to have a brake applied to it, the feeling is like the chain skipping a couple of teeth. This usually happens when going down hill. It does not happen on the pavement. I have ridden a lot of dirt bikes but this is my first adventure bike so I'm still trying to figure it out.

    Thanks for your help.

Generally abs is turned off for off road riding. My 700 GS will engage abs going downhill with slight pressure on the rear brake if I forget to turn abs off, so nothing to worry about.
