1964 /2 wheels - Moved to Vintage

Hello all. My name is Roger Edgren from Interlochen, MI. Been an MOA member for several years but just getting into Forum. I was getting new tires installed on my 64 R50/2 today in Traverse City and the shop called and said chrome was coming off of wheel as they removed the old tire. I held off putting the new tire on as piece of chrome was about 1.5 inch square. Wheel is tired and spoke bases (threads) are all rusted. Rest of wheel looked pretty good on outside, including spokes. Trying to decide what to do. Bike is in great shape overall. Are you aware of any rechroming shops in northern Michigan? Any idea of cost of rechroming and what is involved? Are replacement wheels available? where? cost? Thanks all. Looking forward to contributing to Forum.

Welcome to the forum! With a vintage bike, hopefully you know about Benchmark Works in Mississippi. Pretty much anything you need for a /2, Vech has...plus he'll have a story behind it! I see that he sells rims and spokes. Part 36 31 4 038 217

After a bit, I'll move this to the Vintage area of the forum.

THANKS. I have had Vech do work for me and bought parts from him. Hadn't thought about him for wheels and spokes when I posted this though. He is always so helpful and such a resource!
