Install Question - Clearwater Billie License Plate Light

    Greetings,

Purchased a Billie license plate frame with running and brake LED light that is supposed to connect to the taillight wires - I've not dug too deep yet on the install but did try removing taillight lens - it didn't want to come out easy and didn't want to force it so I tightened things up - thinking best way to tap into the wires is by removing rear seat and locating plug that attaches to the light mechanism.

I purchased at the MOA Rally in SLC a few days ago but they were too slammed with other installs to take care of it - the tech did give me a diode but didn't think I'd need it - any suggestions from a member who's BTDT is appreciated.

    Thanks a lot,

    Ken

I have the Billie Junior on my '16 RT. It uses the CanOpener to connect. No splicing to tail light wires required. Not sure if this is helpful or not.

Thanks, zenwhipper - mine is an '08 and can opener doesn't apply to my year - I think I'm gonna unwrap the black wire under the seat that goes into the tail light assembly and tap into the colored wires that apply to running & brake light - w/out the can opener the light is not programmable but I'll still have running and brake light and increased visibility.

    Thanks again

Got it handled tonight - once I identified the wires it went real quick - the posi taps provided by Clearwater are awesome. Wanted to get this done as I'm on the West Coast and having extra visibility on the ride back to MN is a good thing!

Ran the Billie wire up through tail light lens and found tail light wires beneath the seat. Brown for Ground and Grey with Black stripe for running light / brake light.
