    Smoking at start up

I purchased a new 2016 RTW and it initially would smoke on start up when cold. The service manager asked if I was parking it on the side stand and I said I was and he recommended I park it on the center stand to see if that rectified the problem. He said oil can seep by the rings when parked, which is the same thing I was told 17 years ago when I had my 1999 R1200C. Well it still occasionally smokes on start up and the service manager has made note of it when I take it in for service and said we will watch it to see if it stops because it really isn't broken it yet. I have 14500 miles on it and now it occasionally smokes on warm start up after it has been parked on the side stand for a couple of hours. The oil level may drop ever so slightly in between oil changes, but I have never had to add oil. Inside the muffler looks nice and dry, no oily residue inside and no residue sputtering on the outside edge of the muffler either.

Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

    Thank you

Mine smokes every time after being on the side stand overnight. No smoke when on the center stand.
    I have about 11K miles.

    Ha ha..
    I get it.

I used to put a wooden plate/block under the side stand of my 2003 K1200GT to keep it more "upright when resting" and thereby reduce smokey starts.
Worked well, cept' for the evening that, as I struggled to reinstall the persnickety to install seat, I pushed the bike over onto it's right side.
Still recall the sound of it as it crashed to the garage floor by my own hand.
