    inReach - Garmin vs. Delorme?

Maybe there's some new info or experience out there now, but my understanding is that the two versions of the inReach do the same thing. Apart from the cases they're the same.

So why pay more for the Garmin?

I'm asking because (1) I like the 2-way comm aspect of the inReach, and (2) the SPOT company is becoming more difficult to get along with, and (3) at least for a while both versions of the inReach are available.

Garmin acquired Delorme spring of 2016.

I'm not that familiar with the newer iterations of the communicator. But, my version (5-6 years old) from Delorme works without a hitch. I had the Spot Tracker for a while and did not like the thing.
