This is an epic feat. More motorcyclists ought to know this story.

We know Tim, he lives nearby

He hasn't been a LDR as long as some, but he sure caught up with it really quick. I lost count how many ride medallions were on one of his GSA's

He told me about this project last time I was popping a set of tires on for him...pretty cool project indeed

It is good to see a motorcycling pioneer being recognized and there are others that are deserving of such recognition. My favorites are Clyde "Slim" Williams and John Logan. They rode BSA motorcycles from Alaska to the lower 48 in 1939. One of the bikes is (was) on display at the Museum of the North on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Williams also mushed a dog team from Fairbanks to Washington DC in the early 30s to promote the idea of a road to Alaska.
