    now the confluence of the White and Deschutes rivers. every time I have been to this spot it has been sunny.

    by now I was hungry, so I stopped at the Riverside in Maupin. had a great lunch on a sunny deck.

    on the way home ( back to the clouds ) I decided I should check out the headwaters of the White river. the first shot is just off forest road 48, the next are where hwy 35 crosses. sometimes there is a lot of water here.

    the last shot, just below Timberline lodge. the river starts on the other side of that ridge.

    I'd be interested in either GPS tracks, routes taken, or directions. It looks very fun and I'd like to do it too. Have traveled some of the roads but not all.

    hey Don, I will be happy to share, although I am a paper map kind of guy. are you going to the CJR in John Day next week? if so look me up at airhead central, and I will be happy to share. also we are doing a dual sport ride on Saturday, if that interest's you.
