Dual sport tires for 2016 K1600GTL

Going to Alaska from West Virginia. Looking for tires good for highway and rough roads.
    Thank you

You might want to rethink that.
K16's aren't very fond of "rough roads".

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous.
It is however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence or stupidity.

Aw, people take Goldwings and Harley baggerbobbers or whatever they call them to Alaska all the time. Some folks have even been known to ride a BMW K1200LT to Alaska. I suspect someday a K1600 will make it there too.

Sounds like a nice trip. For us without the K16, perhaps you could mention the size. I have some Headeneau's on the F-8.....if they were in your tire size

It looks like the bag and engine guards did a great job. Looks like no plastic touched.
It's much easier to pick up a bike sitting like your picture compared to to one that rolls all the way over and has the wheels up.

Is this the engine bars you have?

There aren't that many trail oriented tires for your wheel size.
I know the Continental Trail Attack 2 and the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II would fit.

I'd doubt they would hold up to the weight and power of the K1600 however.
