where did you advertise a BMW you sold?

I want to learn from your experience if you have sold a BMW outside of your town/city. I live in a big town/tiny city and need to thin my small herd. Word of mouth advertising hasn't worked and I have the bike listed here on the Marketplace. Is that like trying to sell snow to the Eskimos?

What are logical next steps - Cycle Trader? Ebay? Craiglist? I'm not holding out for a high price, nor do I want to give it away. What do you suggest if you have been through this?

    Thanks!

I've had great success selling on Craigslist.

I advertised our F650s on the IBMWR ads list and they sold within a week.

I almost always advertise on Craigslist first. I find local sales to be easier. I will usually meet the interested party somewhere public, not too far from my house for a first meeting.

Police station lobbies make the most sense to me.
