Center Stand, any corrosion issues?

I have a 2015 RT (25,000 miles) and I have noticed that much of the paint on the crossbar of the Center Stand has been worn away. It is obviously an area that will be blasted by road grit from the front tire so I have to believe that this is a normal situation. My question to the forum is whether this part is prone to corrosion and if so, what are some ideas to minimize any issues.

I have seen quite a few complaints on the RS forum. I didn't think much of it as most of our bikes have done it.
In the past I have repainted the cross bar every couple years.
On my R1200RS I wrapped the cross bar with a clear 3M film.

Hi - my last R1200R suffered a similar issue with the centre stand, so when I got the new R1200GS I went to the local hardware store and purchased a length of 1" thin wall black tube used for watering systems.
Cut to length and then split it down the centre to allow it to slip onto and around the main cross bar. It's matt black and once fitted is almost invisible.

Not much help now that you are already seeing the damage, but with a new coat of paint, this will protect it.
