torx sizes F 7 GS?

???

What FASTENERS ON THE BIKE, other than the front caliper mounting bolts, require female torx?

:dance:dance:dance

The parts fiche shows a female torx nut for the exhaust headers.
My R1200RS has the same nut and my K1300S had the same nut.

What is the difference between a "female torx" and what takes a 12 point wrench or socket?

I went out to the garage to check the header nut, and a 13mm 12 point was a good fit on the R1200RS.
Don't know if this is true for all sizes.

I never saw one of those. All my Torx sockets have 6 points, so none of those would work on a nut like that. Apparently, it's known as a Triple Square, used mostly by German auto manufacturers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screw_drives#Triple-square. It's good that a standard 12-pt socket gets the job done, because a quick search is finding very few options for a socket actually made for that shape. O'Reilly Auto Parts claims that these spline sockets will work.

Thanks. After I googled for pictures I see they have 6 points like you mention.
