R1200 GS Hybrid with xdrive 2 wheel drive

Yeah, this part clinched it for me in the "fake news" category:

To prove the capability of the new xDrive Hybrid GS, it was subjected to thousands of testing miles in extreme conditions. Reiner Scherbeck, head of winter testing at BMW Motorrad, rode it to Norway’s North Cape and across the frozen Barents Sea to the North Pole and back again.

I read this and thought it was "Fake News" sounded hyped. I have heard nothing about this and wondered if this is true.

That fake is just an exagerration of this real concept:http://www.wunderlich.de/en/worldofexperience/concept-bikes/r/wunderlich-r-1200-gs-lc-hybrid/

45HP electric motor squeezed into the front hub is (or, would be) very impressive! Why not put another one in the rear hub and swap out the whole engine/tranny for a big fat battery and make a 90HP AWD electric GS?

:)
